Across the centre, we have been exploring all things - fireworks!

We have explored colour in a range of different ways and our conversations have been rich with key vocabulary - bang, flash, vibrant and bright.

We have enjoyed watching our friends being imaginative and creative. Each room's masterpieces are placed in the hall for all to enjoy.

During our firework celebrations, we have spent time deepening and embedding our creative skills. We began our day with a wonderful activity created by Ruby. Ruby put paper, paint and a ball inside a tub - ‘I wonder what might happen if we shake the tub?’. The children watched in amazement as Ruby shook the tub. As she opened the tub, the children realised a beautiful firework creation had been made. The children were excited to have a turn themselves! They waited patiently to have their shake of the tub before opening the lid to see the beautiful creations.

For Bonfire night, we have been getting creative! We have spent time creating our own fireworks in a range of different ways. Firstly, we have been using our printing skills to push and press down hard onto our paper to create our very own fireworks. The children enjoyed waiting to see how their print would come out! Next, we created our own sparklers. We used tissue paper and straws. After we attached them, we loved to swish them around our heads. Finally, we created our own sensory bottles. We used recycled bottles with water, sequins and glitter. We added colouring into our water. We really enjoyed watching the different sequins move around the bottles.

We have had a wonderful day exploring fireworks! We began our day in the Creative Area looking at our tuff tray! We had beautiful lines of sand placed in the tray ready for us to use our fingers to create our own fireworks. We used our fingers to create swirling patterns in the sand. We spoke about the different shapes we had made. We compared each other's shapes by their sizes and lengths - fantastic Maths conversations!
