Hedgehogs blog:

During this week in Hedgehogs, the children have been continuing to develop their wonderful imaginations. They have been hosting their own tea parties in the sensory garden. To be successful within their mission, the children have used resources such as teapots, cups and bowls. The adults around the children have encouraged them to use water and sand play as part of this. The adults have been modelling how the children can transport these materials to our shady part of the garden. Within the sensory garden, the children have been using the wooden tables to plan, prepare and deliver their parties. It has been excellent to hear the children using their communication skills. The children have been polite and asking their peers if they can share tea with each other. Many of the children were able to mirror what they had heard previously such as - ‘Please can I have some sugar?’ as well as using their manners - ‘thank you!’.

To end the week, we have spent time in the allotment. The children have used their observation skills to notice that our tree has begun to grow apples! The children were watching the trees closely to see what they could spot. We used keywords such as - ‘big’ and ‘little’
